When you need to hire someone to do a job around the house, or when you’re looking for a new mechanic or hair dresser or whatever, we ask around for recommendations. Some of us who are more tech savvy may do a quick search online and look at reviews. Why do we have to put in such research? It’s because there are people out there who are marketing themselves for a service, but have no intention of being honest and full of integrity. In Ecclesiastes 9:10 scripture states, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Do you do your job with all your might? Whether you labor outside the home or stay home, do you work full of integrity or do you just finish tasks as quickly as possible just to check them off your list? The Bible says in Colossians 3:23, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” When we as Christians work, we do for the Lord and not for men. We ought to “Give of your best to the master” as the hymn states. Our goal should not be to achieve some lofty praises from others, but rather to magnify His name. In whatever role the Lord has you in, ask him to make you the best at it for His glory and not your own. Colossians 3:17, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
