At only 32 years old I’ve seen plenty of change in the world. I couldn’t imagine the change the baby boomers or even my parents have seen. With the way the world is going now, I’m sure more changes are to come. (And I would think it would be safe to assume for the worse, rather than the better). The more the world grows away from God you can see it quickly getting worse. Man thinks he’s in control. This means thinking of himself as being a god and telling you what to accept and not accept. When we leave out God man only faces destruction.

Men become god in many ways by making you desensitized to wickedness. For instance, what about abortion? Man gods tell you that aborting an average of 2,363 babies a day in the United States is ok. We also go against God word in cohabitation (living in with your girl/boy friend before marriage). In fact 60% of Americans are living together before marriage so we knowing better than God accept what’s going on again. How about how normalized pornography is now in America. I can guarantee you that it’s in the work place, it’s in your group of friends, it’s in the church and I’m sure, in some cases, it’s even behind the pulpits.

Being born again we know God’s truths and we have his convictions on our hearts every time we do something wrong, or are about to. We need to listen to the Holy Spirit tugging at our heart. It might just happen the next time you decide to turn on your TV and something rated R or TV MA pops up on the screen. It’s Satan’s hand at work and the world just wants to conform to it. There are a couple shows that are popular right now, and I hear the guys at work talk about it on occasion. From the sounds of it, there is nothing about what they watch that glorifies God in any way. It’s the worlds goal to desensitize the children of God. Every year, everyday, most every new show or movie we become more and more desensitized.

So how do we put up the fight? We absolutely have to read the Bible daily (no read no feed). We have to study, meditate, fast and pray. The more we grow in Christ, the more the Holy Spirit will convict us. God’s commandments/Law is a great way to be quickly convicted. They’re unchanging and truth, because he is Truth. Psalm 119:142 it says “….. thy law is the truth”, again in Psalm 119:151 “….. all thy commandments are truth”. God’s law is perfect, and His commandment’s never changing. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Amen, I absolutely love being convicted and knowing exactly what Gods word does. It’s a big help to have a biblical pastor who preaches straight from the word of God. My favorite story of conviction by God’s law Romans 7: 7-25

“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
